Entry #5 gave us the Shamā — the declaration that Yahauah is akhad: First, Single, Alone, an Individual, and the Source of all true Unity. It asked us to order every relationship, authority, and loyalty around that reality.
Entry #6 gives us what comes immediately after.
The commandment in Deuteronomy 6:5 does not exist in isolation. It flows directly from the declaration of Entry #5, and that sequence is intentional. Yah does not simply announce His identity and then demand a response. He first tells you who He is — and then tells you who He wants you to be toward Him. He establishes the relationship before He names what the relationship requires.
What it requires is this:
“And you shall love Yahauah your alah with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” — Deuteronomy 6:5
At first reading, this feels familiar — perhaps even easy to nod at. Of course we love Yah. Of course.
